I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Sweet and gentle Emmylou came to us from the rural Avenal shelter. She is a very sweet, meek little girl who looks like a miniature border collie. She's very cute with lots of white on her chest, feet and tail. We think she may have been an indoor girl at some time, because dog beds and inside versus outside appear to be concepts she understands. Emmylou is good with other dogs and is ok with cats, too. We think she is about 12 years old and she's 24 lbs. Now that she's finally receiving some TLC, Emmylou has perked up a bit. She's starting to gain weight and is getting more stable on her back legs. She's house trained and enjoys sunning herself. Kind and gentle Emmylou waits ever so patiently for her forever family.
Tails of Gray is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organization that offers a safe and loving sanctuary for senior dogs regardless of breed, health or ease of placement. Our goal is to prevent needless euthanasia through the offering of shelter, adoption, foster, hospice and education. All Tails of Gray senior dogs are spayed and neutered, microchipped and receive appropriate veterinary care and treatment. Tails of Gray welcomes the unwanted and heals the sick. Those precious senior dogs who cannot be healed will spend their final days in a comfortable environment where they experience unconditional love, some for the first time.
Our Adoption Process...
To adopt a dog from Tails of Gray, you must:
1. Complete an online application for adoption. 2. Meet your prospective pet. If your application to adopt is approved, our adoption coordinators will schedule a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt. 3. Complete a home visit. If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed. 4. Finalize the adoption. After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!
