Jada's Story...
Chance at Life received a Facebook message from an employee at the Hackensack Home Depot that a kitten was running around their garden center and they could not catch it. A volunteer went to the parking lot and heard the kitten crying. Apparently she was chased out of the garden center and was hiding in the outdoor plants.

A trap was set and Jada, being so hungry, immediately went in. She was dirty, had fleas and was extremely hungry. In the car ride home, she ate a full can of food. She then devoured a bowl of dry kibble. Jada was treated for fleas and cleaned up as much as possible. She was too skittish for a bath. We believe she was dumped by someone because even though she is skittish, she is very sweet and did not try to attack.

Approximate 10 weeks old. Up to date on vaccinations and FIV/FeLV negative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jada, a River Edge Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in River Edge, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in River Edge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in River Edge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a River Edge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in River Edge paves the way for another one to be saved.
