Pretty Schatzi was rescued from the brink of death, and has come back like a champ! She was neglected, starved, and her medical issues were never treated, but she fought her way back to health and is ready for a home.
Schatzi has diabetes, for which she required twice daily insulin injections. She is so brave and doesn't even flinch when she gets them. She had to have both eyes removed due to complications from when her diabetes was untreated. She is only about 8 years old, so she should have a long, happy life ahead of her.
Schatzi would be happiest as the center of your world. Not good with cats, she's got a bit of an attitude, but we can't blame her after all she's been through.
All of our dogs are available for a $150 donation. This includes them being spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and fully vaccinated.
To adopt a dog, we require an approved pre-application, as well as a securely fenced yard. This means an actual, physical, fence. 'Invisible' fences are not acceptable, sorry. If you live in an apartment and do not have a yard, we are not able to adopt to you.
Please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Please note: we typically do not do 'out of the area' adoptions. This would be any location more than 60 miles away from the Reno/Carson City area.

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
