Briggs – 3 year old Mastiff Mix - Briggs was found as a stray in Bedford and narrowly escaped death as he was misdiagnosed with several problems. After GAP rescued him our vet determined he only had a slight skin infection and a heart murmur. He is neutered and vaccinated.
Briggs new bio: Briggs is not a ‘normal’ dog. He is Awesome! He listens to you. He pays attention to you. He wants to please you. He is the most devoted and loving dog I have known. He loves to sit at your feet and look up at you with admiration and love in his sweet eyes. When it's dinner time, he dances and prances, he is so excited about eating!!
He enjoys chasing and retrieving balls, but only for a minute due to his heart murmur. Then he is good to spend time hanging out with you on the coach or on his bed or just chewing on that tennis ball. He has not had a great life so far and is so craving love and attention. He deserves so much more. He will adore you. He will appreciate you. He will be 100 % completely devoted to you. You just need to love him and you will be rewarded with devotion and adoration like you have never known before.
He has a high prey drive, but can also get along wonderfully with cats that do not run from him. He can be great with smaller dogs BUT like Lennie Small in 'Of Mice and Men' he does not know his own strength. He would do best in a home with no other pets as all he wants is YOU!!
HE is an 80 pound love bug and will follow you from room to room. But quickly responds to a command. He is great on a leash, but has some leash aggression especially if an approaching dog is being aggressive toward him or me. He is very protective. He is 100% house broken. Never had an accident. He is wonderful. He spends about 5 hours a day in a kennel and then will not let you out of his sight. Briggs is a great dog and wonderful companion and friend.
Briggs is the kind of dog that comes around once in a lifetime. If you are a good fit for this gentle giant, please consider him. Contact foster mom Lisa at email@example.com for more information!
