Jasper is a very loving 6 yr old blue point Siamese. He came to us about a week ago when our vet asked if I would be interested In taking him before his owners euthanized him. They had him as a family member for 6 years and had him neuters and declawed three years earlier. They said he wouldn't use his litter box and he couldn't go outside so they didn't know what else to do. I agreed to take him in. He had sores all over him from scratching, flea dermatitis and dander, very skinny and hair was brittle and thin. Once we got him we tested for feline leukemia and he was negative. He got his rabies vaccination and feline leukemia booster, and stared him on revolution. He is looking great and is using a littler box. The litter isn't typical cat litter he will need to use a box with critter care. Some cats that have had their claws removed don't prefer the hard clumping clay litter because their paws are tender and uncomfortable to scratch in. His hair is looking better and he is becoming more active. He will have to stay as an inside cat and will have to use the more expensive litter. We do not know if he does well with other cats or dogs. He is a great people person cat though. About Fur-Giving Hearts Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a nonprofit 501C3 organization dedicated to helping neglected and distressed cats and dogs and getting them the help they need. Saving animals and finding them the help they need and placing them in a loving home is so rewarding to us. We are not selective in which animals we rescue. They all deserve a chance no matter their color, breed or condition. We know that we cant save them all, but our thinking is "Why not try?"

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have regularly planned adoption events. Like us on Facebook to see posts for events planned.

Our Adoption Process...

There is an adoption application we require to be filled out and approved first. We check a vaccination history and heartworm prevention history by calling the veterinarian listed on the application.

There is a home visit prior to adoption. Some times this isn't possible because of the distance and in that case we make other arrangements.

We also require a meet and greet. If out of state the adopter would pay for a health certificate to travel across state lines. Usually this is around $20.00 in addition to the adoption fee. The adoption fee ranges based on the animal.
