is a 4 years old 7 pounds cutest little dog you will ever meet
he knows no stranger, loves people
loves to be held
loves car rides
loves being social
not your usual Chihuahua
not really a yipper
not a snapper
looking for breed experienced new mom or dad
does not care which gender
he loves people
has not been around small kids and not really a kids dog
but a great sidekick for a adult home
young retired that have time for him
someone home and someone that likes to take their dog along to most places

Cody has no problem being picked up even by a stranger
he loves to meet new people

knows commands, mellow, loves to go for walks, rides, only barks at dogs otherwise quiet
has not been around many dogs as owner is ill so no walks the only reason he's looking for another home
this time a forever home

fully vetted healthy and chipped
gets his teeth checked every 2 months when he gets groomed at the groomers and they said all looks good as they brush and clean the teeth there
no known health problems, very loved the past few years a social butterfly, loves to go bye bye
He's fully housebroken but loves to pee when walking outside
He's quit confident and a smart boy
loves to sleep under the cover with you but not a must
as long as he has a comfy bed and his blankie
loves plush toys
loves treats and yummy food
He knows a few commands
does well on the leash
a very nice dog and could be a ambassador for his breed
right training and he could possibly become a therapy dog
going to nursing homes etc as he loves the attention
and is mellow, easy and friendly
Cody would make a great only pet at home as he loves to "hog" all the attention
loves being treated as one of the family
a little pampering be great
he would love to sit on your lap anytime and in the car too
but has learned to sit next to you instead of on you
but if you're that person that loves a dog on your lap when driving in a car
then he would be it
Cody is looking for a good leader that's very loving
a quiet home but folks that love to go places they can bring a dog along
He's not a dog park dog
he rather gets loved by humans then running with other dogs
he's all about humans
he did live with a very old female dog for about 6 months
when he first joined the current owner
but she passed away
he enjoys being the only dog but with the right dog and experienced folks could maybe live with another small female dog but we prefer as only because he mainly lived as only dog
and enjoys that attention
someone that is home during the day and young retired
we are not looking to place him with any young folks as a purse dog etc
but stable young retired home owners
with a fenced yard preferred as he loves going out and explore a bit
but may be flexible
loves treats and yummy food

adoption fee, references, pics of home, breed experience, secure fenced yard preferred

About Save A Dog Today (Matchmaker&Adoption Center)

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a 501 non profit rescue

We educate dog owners of the IMPORTANCE to spay/neuter their pet(s). Find foster homes where rescue dogs can stay safe until adopted out. Help place owner surrender dogs.

Pull dogs out of kill shelters, rehabilitate, provide them with love, care and medical treatments, then find the perfect match for dog and human.

We don't just find a good home, but the best possible match for dog and human. We have a 99% of NO return dogs. Because we consider the dog and human lifestyles, and carefully select the right home as we want dog/human to be together happily ever after. Adopting a dog is a big decision/responsibility and should be carefully thought of by each family member.

Come Meet Our Pets...

No Formal Shelter, all our dogs are in foster homes

Our Adoption Process...

How our adoption process works:
First Step: E-mail us for a online application or see our website at

Second Step: Once we receive your application we will e-mail you back to let you know that we received it .
We will then review your application which can take about 2 days, once approved someone will contact you either by phone or e-mail.

Should you not get approved that does NOT mean you are not a suitable home, but that the dog you choose is not the best fit to your lifestyle or the dogs lifestyle.

We try to match dog and human as best as possible to not just have a happy ending but the dog will hopefully stay in that home "forever.
Third Step: To get approved your Vet references need to check out, meaning that you took prev. pets or current pets to the Vet for at least their Rabies shots, showing that you're a responsible pet owner.
Fourth Step: Once the Vet references check out we will set up a physical home check (or get pictures from you), someone will come to your home, check the fencing, place the dog will sleep, meet all family members, that is to assure us that the animal will be save and live happily ever after.
Fifth Step: Once the home check is approved, you can then come meet your "dream dog" and take him/her home with you, after signing adoption contract
paying the required adoption fee by either cash or check.
We always try to work as fast as possible as we know you are excited to get your new family member home. There will be times that we have family emergencies or are sick so the adoption process could be slowed a bit, we appreciate your patience!
