Rosie's Story...
UPDATED BIO: Rosie has now surpassed her trepidation about car rides and LOVES to go bye bye! She's come out of her shell significantly and is always a happy girl, romping, playing, and wagging her tail. She's still a bit leery of new people but will greet them and allow them to pet her.

While she doesn't much care for fetch, she enjoys playing tug and is always up for a good game of it! During the day, she goes to work with her foster mom and is perfectly content to lounge under the desk on a doggy bed. She loves cuddling on the couch and would really enjoy a forever home where she could snuggle in bed too.

Due to her shyness though, it would be best if Rosie was not in a home with children under the age of twelve.

Who's ready to take this pretty girl home with them?!?!?!?!?!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sweet Rosie is a two year old, 56 pound Lab mix who was rescued from a hoarding situation. She, along with fifteen other dogs, were living in a disabled SUV in a hospital parking lot. This poor girl was fed spam, beef jerky, and other human food for at least a month! Since she's been in a foster home for the past week, she's started to come out of her shell and show everyone what a great dog she is.

Rosie loves to run and play outside, is treat motivated, and will eat her dog food now, but only if there's a bit of human food mixed in with it. Her foster is currently mixing her food with chicken or tuna. She's a bit timid but warms up rather quickly, then wants to do nothing but cuddle! Rosie is crate/potty trained and LOVES chew toys. She's a bit possessive of them but after being in a car for a month with fifteen other dogs, can you really blame her?!?!?!

She's also working on her leash training and coming along just fine. Due to her past circumstances, she is hesitant to ride in a vehicle and will whine during car rides. Hopefully with some more exposure, and after realizing she doesn't need to stay in one all the time, it will subside.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosie, a Cincinnati Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
