Finley is a very sweet, happy, funny boy!   He is brand new and still adjusting in his foster home, but is quickly learning to use the doggie door and he is fine being crated while his family is out.   He likes to “talk” and is very expressive!   We recently had Finley at an adoption event and he did great with everyone.  He loved meeting people and other dogs and didn’t even mind the Halloween costume he wore!

About Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small (but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies and collie mixes but on occasion, we have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie, we'd like to help you find a wonderful companion that fits your family's lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please go directly to for an application. Once the application is submitted, our adoption team can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if one of our dogs would be a good fit for your home. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state, but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match. Please contact with any additional questions you may have after reviewing the information on our website.
