Suzanne's Story...
Suzanne has had a rough start. This poor girl was brought to us because her owner was not in the right state of mind to are for her. She can be a bit nervous and unsure of herself, but is very sweet once she warms up. Considering her previous life, who could blame her. She comes around very quickly and shows that she wants to love you, but just needs a little time. Suzanne would like a home with someone who has nothing but love to give, along with some patience and understanding.

For more information on Suzanne, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit us during adoption hours (Tuesday from 11a.m until 7 p.m and Wednesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) Adoption fee for dogs is $275 and puppies ( 6 months and under) are $325.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Suzanne, a New Milford Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound for sale in New Milford, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in New Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
