Bucci is a 2 year old Cane Corso. He is one of the sweetest big boys around! Bucci will only be adopted out to people who have previous breed experience. We are working with local rescues to try and help him find a foster or forever home. Bucci would prefer a home with no cats. He would do best if the resident dogs were females. Bucci knows how to sit and takes treats so nicely! He also walks very politely on a leash, given his size! Bucci did wonderful with his exams, he is a gentle giant! As far as children go, a home with older children who are respectful and familiar of dogs would be best. Bucci likes to lean in for back scratches and would easily knock over a small child because he is so big! Bucci loves treats and and loves to give kisses even more! He can't wait to become a forever dog!
The Michiana Humane Society has been helping our community's unwanted animals find homes for nearly 100 years. We believe that animals belong with families, and we do whatever we can to make that happen!
Come Meet Our Pets...
The shelter is currently open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for adoptions. You can find news of our activities on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MichianaHumaneSocietySPCA) or our website.
Our Adoption Process...
Looking for a dog or cat? Here's how we do adoptions at MHS. Come into the shelter and find the pet you want to add to your family. Fill out an application form and leave it at the front desk. Then you call us the next morning to find out if you're approved!
Once your adoption is approved, if the pet is already spayed or neutered you can come in, complete the adoption contract, and take your baby home.
If a spay or neuter is required, MHS will schedule it within the next week. Once your pet's surgery is complete, you can come in and pick up.
Adoption fees are $135 for dogs and $85 for cats. That includes all initial vaccinations (except rabies), spay or neuter if required, heartworm or feline leukemia testing, and flea treatments.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
