ADOPTION PENDING Brownie is a 14 pound chi/terrier mix (best guess) who is 1-3 years old and was found as a stray. Mellow and quiet, Brownie loves to cuddle. He adores human affection and has a wonderful friendly personality - he loves to snuggle up next to new people or wander around parties wagging his tail at all of his new friends. He’d be delighted to curl up at your feet all day and would be a great companion at a dog-friendly office.

Brownie is very polite on leash and will keep perfect pace with you. Brownie follows his foster brother's lead in finding interesting spots to sniff outside, and identifying which humans are available to give attention. He'll happily chill all day (and even cuddle a bit!) with dogs who don't ask him to interact; however at the moment he gets nervous when other dogs are high-energy or try to initiate play with him. We think a home without a dog, or with a calm older dog will be best for Brownie. He loves humans of all genders and sizes, however we feel that a home without small children would be best for Brownie, since energetic kids might be a bit too much for him.

Most of the time, Brownie is content to be cozy in a dog bed, on a soft blanket, or on your feet. He's a dedicated snuggler who will nestle right up against your chest or legs all night while sleeping. Yet when he gets into a playful mood, he gets delightfully goofy - jumping high in the air, spinning around in circles, or doing barrel rolls. Brownie is a sweetheart of a dog, and we're excited to introduce him to his forever family!

Brownie’s adoption fee is $350. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DHPP, Bordetella, rabies), micro chipped, flea and tick treated, dewormed and heart worm tested – negative. He is being fostered in NE Seattle.

About Down Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Down Dog rescue was established in 2012 after the founders first rescue dog, Harley, passed away from old age. Courtney McFarlane adopted Harley when she was just 17-years-old sparking a life long commitment and love toward saving dogs. Down Dog is dedicated to rescuing highly adoptable dogs from death row and placing them into loving forever homes. We believe every dog deserves a second chance and we feel blessed to live in region where dog adoption and rescue outweighs breeding. We are proud that our death row dogs are now happily living in Seattle spending their days accompanying their owners to work, boating around the Puget Sound and romping around dog parks.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Down Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue located in Seattle, Washington. Each one of our dogs is placed in foster care until they are adopted. Our fosters typically live in various neighborhoods in Seattle and Bainbridge Island. We setup meet and greets for potential adapters in their own homes, or the homes of foster parents. Occasionally we will meet at a dog park for the initial visit.

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for choosing adoption! We are dedicated to placing our dogs into the right family. We require adoption applications to be filled out and completed prior to meet and greets, a Veterinarian or personal reference check and home visits before adoptions are complete. We also require our adopters to fill out adoption contracts and we reserve the right to place dogs in a two week trial to assure dog is going to the right home. We are open to all types of living situations. Our fees range from $150-275 depending on age.
