Facts about Mojo

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Black (All)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
My name is Mojo because I am such a charming guy I will have you under my love spell in no time. I was found as a stray and after a visit to the vet I was brought here to find my furever home. I am a major love bug and promise you that I will forever be your best friend. I am making lots of new feline friends and of course all the people are quick to worship me too. I am in great health for a 2 year old with the exception the vet found crystals in my urine, so I have to be on a special diet for life. I need an owner who will make sure I receive only this food, so I have to be an indoor only cat to ensure I am not stealing other animals food. Come on in and see how long it takes to have you under my spell too.

About Springfield Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

We're a small shelter in Vermont covering 11 towns in Windsor County. We have a small but very dedicated staff, and an active volunteer program. We have been rescuing cats and dogs since our inception in 1941, when a wonderful woman turned her barn into a shelter. Since then we've grown quite a bit and have recently redone our entire kennel area - we have sun tubes for natural light, radiant heat in the floors, a music program and an aromatherapy program. All through the generous donations of the public. Our cats live comfortably in community cat rooms where they are free to roam and climb and play - one cat room even has a fully fenced outdoor enclosure. We have acres of field for dog walking, and a small agility course set up in an outdoor kennel. We have a large puppy room, and a larger still puppy play area outside.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our open hours are Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 4:30. We sometimes have pets available for meeting at various fundraisers. Please check our web page or facebook page for information on upcoming events.

Our Adoption Process...

We require a completed adoption application prior to adoption, but you're welcome to come visit our animals any time we're open. Our fees cover all vaccinations, spay/neuter, worming, flea prevention, microchip, collar and ID tag, and are as follows: Cats - $80, $50 for the second. Kittens are $100, $75 for the second. Senior cats (over 7) are by donation. Dogs - small breed adult $175, small breed puppy $250 and up. Large breed adult $150, large breed puppy $200 and up. Senior dogs (8 and over) are by donation. Purebred puppies and adults adoption fees are set per dog. We do not require a home visit, however we will ask for landlord permission if you rent. We rely heavily on vet references, but also ask for personal references.
