Important Note

Chauncey (bonded with Claire) is best friends with Claire (bonded with Chauncey). Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
**COURTESY POSTING** Chauncey and his BFF Claire will be finding themselves homeless due to family moving. As it would be wonderful to place both dogs together, the family understands that separating the two may give them a higher chance of adoption.

Chauncey is a 9 year old neutered male purebred black Labrador Retriever(born December 2007) He loves to be loved, is house trained, can follow commands (sit & lay down) but can be stubborn at listening to those commands, good with children, unsure if he likes cats, sleeps a lot, and loves apples, carrots, and asparagus as treats. He loves to eat and is very food motivated. He enjoys walks but could use some work on a leash and he will retrieve a tennis ball but choses to not give it up. Chauncey gets along with other dogs with proper introduction. He is a little anxious (no problems with storms) but has separation anxiety from Claire. Chauncey was a rescue to the family 3 years prior and does not like to be grabbed by his collar (he will not bite but he lets you know he does not like that). He is a very sweet boy and would be a lap dog if allowed.

Chauncey is neutered and up to date on vaccines (Rabies expires 6/19).

If you are interested in giving Chauncey (and perhaps Claire as well) a home to live out her/their golden years, please email us at

About Lapeer's Adoptable Animals, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

As we advocate for our local animal shelter, there are a few animals that we will take into our care depending on available foster space. These will include animals with special needs, hard to place animals, animals that may become urgent at the shelter, animals with behavior issues, or assist the public in helping them re-home their animals.

Our Mission: Is to work towards lowering the euthanasia rate and act for the community as an advocate on behalf of the animals in Lapeer County. We are devoted to provide financial, medical, social, and behavioral assistance and to raise community awareness to educate the public on responsible ownership by spaying and neutering and enhancing the lives of adoptable animals through adoption. We are committed to cooperating with other area organizations dedicated to the rescue and care of homeless animals and to achieving humane solutions to the problem of pet overpopulation.
