found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Chance is a 6-8 month old Dachshund mix puppy that was a found stray whereby the owner could not be located. Chance weighs about 11 lbs. and is a short-haired long bodied Dachshund mix with a reddish blond coat and soulful eyes. He is your typical happy puppy who loves life and everything that breaths. Chance lives to play - his life’s joy is to play with other dogs. He is also very people-oriented, enjoying human contact for loving and cuddle time. Chance is crate-trained, and sleeps quietly in an appropriate sized wire crate throughout the night, but insists that I place the crate in the bedroom near me. He is also doing very well with his potty training, but we walk him out regularly. One nice thing is that he always handles his business quickly.
Chance is basically a well-balanced dog; he is not playing all of the time. He enjoys car rides but is squirmy. A transport carrier is probably best. He walks pretty well on the leash considering he has had no formal training; he can benefit from more practice. Chance loves toys! He entertains himself with an array of toys, but his favorite is to play tug-of-war with a toy with another dog. He has also started to chase a thrown ball, put it in his mouth and trot back with it on his short, stubby legs. Chance is not barky; I have not seen him dig, chew or destroy, other than toys, and he loves his rawhide chews!
The home we seek for Chance is a home with another playful dog, either boy or girl, to be his buddy. You see Cookie in the video and she also needs a home (see Cookie profile – we are NOT suggesting that they need to go together). It is so fun to watch Chance play with an array of dogs and see the joy he feels while doing so, only for him to completely crash, asleep, neck to neck with another dog that minutes before he was having a blast with. He seems fine with kids, so kids or no kids is fine. Chance just loves wrestling with, running around with, and chasing other dogs. As I am writing this, the play has stopped, and he is chilling on a pet bed near me very peacefully and calmly, so he can definitely settle down, and the fact that he is near me shows that he truly likes to be where the people are.
Chance is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and is current on shots including rabies. If you are interested in Chance, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
