Meet Mora and Lucy - these 5 year old sister chihuahuas are inseparable and in need of a loving home for both of them. Mora is darker and more on the chubby side, but that just means there's more of her to love! She is tentative and cautious at first, but once she warms up to you, she's crawling in your lap giving you kisses in no time. She loves to snuggle up and snooze next to you on the couch. Lucy has a lighter coat and extra perky ears. She's more of a free-spirit than Mora and is very welcoming and friendly to new people. She likes to investigate and explore which helps her sister become more adventurous and open-minded as well. Lucy prefers the arm of the sofa over your lap, but both dogs also enjoy napping together underneath a cozy blanket.
These cuties are very low maintenance and much unlike the yappy, high-strung description that Chihuahuas sometimes receive. They are house broken, crate trained, and leash trained. Currently they are living in a foster home because the busy kennel environment was too stressful for them. Lucy and Mora have so much love to give and nothing would make them more content than snuggling up with you in their forever home.

If you are interested in meeting Mora & Lucy who will go to their forever home together please contact our Foster Coordinator Kaitlyn at

About The Maryland SPCA

About Our Shelter...

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
