Peter's Story...
What a cutie! This sweet young boy is Peter, a 5 month old white and red kitten looking for his furrever new family! He and his siblings were brought to the shelter after their owner passed away. It takes a little coaxing to get him out of his shell, but he is a total purr-machine! He loves being held and getting his head scratched. Peter loves playing with his toys and chasing after his siblings. He is still young and should be fine with other cats, dogs, and kids in his new home. He is current on his vaccinations, Felv and FIV negative, and microchipped. He will stay to be neutered once he is adopted. Come and meet him at our Waggin' Tails Adoption Center in Benbrook! We are open daily from 12-6pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peter, a Benbrook Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Benbrook, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Benbrook.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Benbrook already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Benbrook breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Benbrook paves the way for another one to be saved.
