We got Gaston on Tuesday and he was one depressed and scared pup. I don't think he's ever known a lick of attention besides someone coming to feed him. He had never been in a house, was scared to go from different flooring types (like from wood to tile) and if anyone moved at more than a very slow walk in his vicinity he would run back to his crate. It wasn't until my cavalier came up to him that he showed any signs of happiness. Slowly, with lots of love and cuddles that first night,we learned things weren't so scary, like the doggy door, and he has been coming out of his shell a little more each day. He has the most precious temperament, laid back and chill. He LOVES to have attention from someone he trust and will just come lay his head down in my lap for a scratch behind the ears. Having another dog here has given him immense comfort, and has shown me he is more a follower than a leader. He walks amazing on a leash and is curious about everything. He has learned sit and down (chicken is a great motivator ) in 3 days and is slowly learning children aren't so scary (he just gets in his crate if they are running around playing). The ONLY bad thing you could possibly say about him is he gets carsick, all in all an amazingly wonderful, gorgeous dog!!
