Louie is a super affectionate, social, and gorgeous young cat, originally rescued with his siblings in Prospect Heights. He’s a big boy for his age, with slightly-crossed gold eyes, ear tuffs, and a big fluffy tail!

Friendly does not come close to describing him – Louie will leap into your arms and cover your face in kisses, then drape over your lap for more attention! He adores people and other friendly cats. His gentle nature would make him a fabulous family cat and he is good with children.

Playing is a big part of his life (especially with his foster sibling Bindi), and he needs to live with another playful young cat or cat friendly dog. He loves to chase, wrestle, and explore (and get into mischief) with his foster friends. Louie enjoys fishing pole toys, bathtubs, wet food, and snuggling. Sunny windowsills, boxes, and jumping all over packing paper are also big favorites.

Louie is 8 months old, neutered, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, and microchipped. Please email to arrange a play date in Brooklyn Heights, or visit Brooklyn Cat Café ( during open hours and say hello.

About Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
