My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

> Happiness comes in pairs. Some souls are created in pairs just like Chomsky & Hobbs. These 2 just happen to be brothers but more importantly they are best friends. They are the cutest & sweetest 4 year old Shepherd / Labrador mixes around! Don’t let their age fool you neither of these handsome boys plan on slowing down anytime soon. Vibrant smiles come frequently, body wiggles plentiful & love radiates around them.

> These guys love to go for walks & play in the water. Both are enthusiastic swimmers. They would be great hiking buddies. Cuddle time is graciously welcomed. Simply the perfect mixture of active & laid back.

> Hobbs is an energetic spirit who enjoys entertaining people. A very outgoing pup who is looking to make friends around every corner. He is the sleeker version of his brother who enjoys life to the fullest. He has dabbled in some of his basics but is hoping to further his education. You can visibly see him light up anticipating the special time he cherishes with you. Hobbs is perfectly happy just being by your side.

> Chomsky is a slightly bigger boned / more to love version of his brother. Needing to shed a few pounds he is on a quest to find a fitness instructor to help him keep on track to his weight loss goal. Much needed exercise, proportion controlled diet, obedience training to keep him focused, strict guidelines to follow & some much needed encouragement. Always giving 100% he tries so hard to make you proud. Make sure to reward this mushy boy with some well-deserved cuddles at the end of productive day.

> Just like all siblings they do have a competitive streak with each other. Hobbs is kind of a show off when playing fetch. He will swipe the ball or toy right out from under Chomsky’s nose. Of course Chomsky can’t let his brother get away with it so he puts up a bit of a fuss. Playtime when toys is involved is best when kept on an individual level. Don’t be fooled though Chomsky is no angel either. At feeding time Hobbs is a grazer & savors every morsel. If Hobbs doesn’t pay close attention Chomsky will assume Hobbs is done eating & help himself to the rest. Feeding them separately ensures everyone gets the amount of food intended for them.

> This dynamic duo can’t imagine life without the other so we are looking for a home for them together. Their social skills are top notch, wanting to make friends with everyone they meet. Whether you are human or another furry companion these guys are willing to extend their hearts on the end of their paws to you. Life is so much better when you have others to enjoy it with! They would be a welcomed addition to most any family. Do you have the means to provide Chomsky & Hobbs a wonderful life? Do you have the accommodations for 2 good size pups? Two pups are twice the work, twice the financial responsibility, twice the commitment BUT two pups are twice the companionship, twice the fun, twice the entertainment & twice the love! Now really how can you say no to these adorable faces? Swing by the shelter on your way home (we have evening hours on Tuesday & Thursday), plan a trip to come up on the weekend or take a day off & visit Hobbs & Chomsky! Who knows maybe you’ll even be lucky enough to take them home.

> Note: As with all of our dogs, we strongly recommend obedience classes for new owner and dog to create a life-long bond with the adopted dog based on trust, respect and rewarding training experiences. Our shelter dogs are strays and we observe and assess their behavior at the shelter which may be somewhat different in a home environment. In addition, dogs adopted from the Manchester Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have received their Rabies and distemper vaccinations as well as other necessary medical care such as flea treatment. All dogs are also heartworm tested. Some prudent care such as heartworm medication is not provided at the shelter and should be taken care of at the earliest convenience upon adoption.
