Meet Gilbert. This adorable guy is a goober. He is silly, funny, always happy, and very affectionate, not to mention also super adorable. Gilbert is listed as a 9-year-old pit mix. We don't believe it. This guy has sparkly teeth and more than just a skip in his step. He is a perfect medium who weighs about 45 pounds. He has a little gray on his muzzle, but, just like with people, he may just have early-onset gray. Gilbert is no puppy, but he does have such a baby look about him. We can't get enough of this charming guy!

Gilbert is a total sweetheart who loves to meet new people, greeting them with kisses. He doesn't know a stranger!Gilbert is good with kids too. He has been around kids as young as 5 and has done great. He is also good with other dogs. He has been around some 15-pounders and some 65-pounders and was comfortable around both sizes. We do not know how he is with cats.

An ideal home for Gilbert will spoil him rotten like he deserves. he would love to be a walking buddy where he can explore new things. For that he will need an Easy Walk harness. After his daily exercise, Gilbert is ready to be a lapdog and watch some TV. Gilbert has good house manners and seems to know a few commands.
Gilbert is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is housebroken and crate trained, but could probably be fine without a crate when unsupervised.

If you would like to offer Gilbert a foster or forever home please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $150.

About PawSwaP of Greater Lafayette

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a rescue/ rhoming service that provides education and assistance for owners in our community to keep pets in their home. When that is not an option or we come across animals in need, we will take them into our foster-based program, work with them, seek all necessary vetting, and find them the perfect home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do various adoption events in the community. If you would like to meet one of our available adoptables, please email us! pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com

Our Adoption Process...

The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application on our website. Once we have reviewed the applications, we will contact the potential adopters to arrange a meet and greet. This can take several days depending on the popularity of the animal.
