Oak's Story...
Hi there! My name is Oak. I am the most adorable and calm mannered pup in my litter. I am also the best looking (at least that what I have heard!). I LOVE to be held and snuggle! My foster tells me what a great demeanor I have and what a great addition to a good family I would be! I am playful, fun but overall pretty calm. I am already crate trained and very smart. I am looking for a great home to call my own. Come meet me!

Our adoption fee is a $200.00 donation to Pup Squad Animal Rescue. Our adopted dogs are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. If you are interested in adoption, please go to to read more about our policies and find our application. Applications should be submitted to or via the online form.

We are happy to transport our dogs out-of-state as we have lots of experience doing this and love to see our dogs to the best homes possible! We will assist with the whole process to getting your new pet to you. Feel free to email us regarding availability or any other questions. Please remember all breed estimates are just that...estimations based on our experience.

Thank you for choosing to rescue an animal in need!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oak, a Houston Boxer/Basenji puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Basenji for sale in Houston, or seeking a Boxer/Basenji puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Basenji breeders who help with Boxer/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
