My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Desmond, and I am an outgoing, playful, affectionate Bombay/ black DSH mix boy who was born in March 2016. I have the Bombay mix's soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather as well as mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes.
I love to cuddle as well as hang out with my foster meowmy, which is not surprising since Bombay mixes are sometimes called Velcro kitties because they are so sociable and like people so much. But I am no couch potato! I'm extremely playful and enjoy rough and tumbling with my foster kitten mates as well as batting around balls with bells and catnip mice. But I can entertain myself during quiet moments: I love to perch on my cat tree and just look out the window.
I was found all alone as a stray kitten, and I was so scared! I ended up at a scary shelter, but luckily my future foster meowmy loves black cats and got me out in the nick of time.
I deserve the best home ever because I have so much love to give. Since I get along great with the other cats and dogs in my foster home, I would be great for any family. As much as I like hanging out with all of my foster buddies, it's time I get my own loving home. Just like my foster meowmy gave me a chance, I hope you will too! The first time I snuggle in your lap and turn on my purr motor, you'll know you made the right decision.
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the attached 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet or Google 'Cats 101 Bombay.'
Desmond is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. His adoption fee is $125 for kittens 9 months old and younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Desmond, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet him.
