Jessie is a sweet little gal. She will play and play with her siblings, chase balls, and investigate new toys, but will always come running back to you if you entice her with a fun toy wand. Sometimes Jessie enjoys just sitting back and watching her brothers (Frankie and Ringo) rough house for awhile before joining in the fun. Playing with Jessie is the key to her heart--all this toy playing will help Jessie bond with you and make her think you are just the best person ever to be around. Jessie also does very well sitting in laps for short cat naps. She loves to be stroked, and petted, and is starting to develop a big purr. Then, of course, after nap time, Jessie is ready to romp and play again or eat....she is very fond of her canned food.

When you bring Jessie home, she will need to be confined to a small area like the bathroom. This way she can acclimate to her new home and get to know you better during your feeding, playtime and litter box cleaning. Once Jessie is using her litter box, eating and drinking well, and running up to greet you when you enter the room, she will be ready for a bit more space. Gradually allow more rooms for her to explore and make sure she can easily get back to her litter box. Depending on the size of your house, you may need to provide a 2nd litter box (especially if you have a large or two story house).

Kitten Management Tips: Kittens are very curious! "Kitten-proof" your kitten's new room: check for holes in walls and other small places where she might get stuck, make sure she isn't using electrical cords as toys, and safely stow household cleaning materials. Also, provide a scratching post, and encourage your kitten to use it.
