Meet Garrett!! Garrett is a yellow Lab/Hound mix, approximately 8-9 months old, and weighing around 33 pounds. Garrett is in a foster home down South waiting for his chance to come to New Jersey. He lives with children aging from 3-4 years to teenager. He gets along with everyone. He can be excitable but it is usually provoked with toys and treats. He jumps some – but is getting better at it. Overall Garrett is a calm dog – even with some puppy tendencies. He has an “old soul” and he adapts to the energy level of those around him. He will snuggle up when people are quiet and chilling out and when you want to play, he gets into playing! He loves fetch – he just doesn’t really give it back. Garrett is crate trained though he likes getting a treat when it's time to get in the crate. He is learning to sit and has this under control for food/treats (may take a minute as he is excited) and when he comes in from walk he has to sit to get his leash off. Other times, he requires a lot of direction and demonstration for sit and down. He is very affectionate and gets along great with women, men and children. He has been to a soccer game and just sat there and let the children play with him. He didn’t seem bothered by the excitement of the game going on around him. He loves to go for a walk and even jogs/runs some. When Garrett arrives on 10/29/16 he is will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and micro chipped.
