Cleopatra's Story...
This darling kitten is named Cleopatra. She is a 9 week old Maine Coon/Calico mix looking for the right person to love her. She is an extremely affectionate, loving, and gentle kitten. Cleopatra asked us to mention that her sweet brother, Julius Casear, is also up for adoption. Though she asked us to put in a good word for him, Miss Cleo and Little Julius do not have to be adopted together because the most important thing is that these sweet kittens find the right furr-ever home, whether it be together or separately. They both are great with other cats as well as dogs, and they would make a beautiful family addition.

*Reminder--Miss Cleo is marked as a bonded pair strictly for easy access to Julius Caesar. Again, they are not required to be adopted together.*

****************AN APPLICATION AND HOME VISIT ARE REQUIRED!***************

Please visit for foster and adoption applications or for additional information.

All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have.

Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cleopatra, a Columbia Maine Coon kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Maine Coon kitten from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
