MEET CHICO!
Don't let the RBF (Resting Beagle Face) fool you, this happy man is named Chico! Chico is a ~6 year old Beagle mix who was surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter because his previous family could no longer afford to care for a pet. Chico wasn't handling the stress of shelter life well and was selected for euthanasia. Luckily, a City of Elderly Love foster family stepped up to save his life - he's now looking onwards and upwards!
Chico is a petite guy, weighing around 25 lbs. and has a stunning brindle and white coat and baby dog eyes. He's currently living with a large Bloodhound and cats, both of which he gets along with great! He's also met other dogs of all sizes and is friendly and appropriate with them. This little guy would make a great addition to a multi-pet household! Chico also loves meeting new people - young, old, big and small! Chico is great on the leash and loves to go for walks around Philly with his foster family. He gets a little spooked by loud noises that pass such as motorcycles, but he's doing great with building confidence and coming out of his shell. In addition to walks and meeting new people, Chico's favorite things include making nests out of every blanket he comes across. He loves to snuggle up to his foster parents and will put his head in your lap or on your shoulder during car rides and gives gentle kisses. He just loves being close to his people! Chico is crate trained, house broken and very intelligent. If you're in the market for an attentive, sweet, social, and smart dog, Chico is your guy!
Chico has recovered from an upper respiratory infection that he picked up living in the shelter and has a little hairloss on his back due to a prior flea infestation, but his coat will be filling back in and looking great in no time. Chico is otherwise a healthy boy!
Chico is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He's also negative for heart worm and lymes disease. Interested in meeting him?
