Hello, My name is Orion and I am in Orlando, Florida and this is my story.

I am a 4 year old Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff) who would love a new family to call my own and not be given up ever again. See, my dad chose to give me up because he works too much and left me all alone in the house for 10-12 hours a day and didn't have much time for me, I did a LOT of sleeping, so he made the decision to help me find a better life. So here I wait in my foster home hoping for another family to fall in love with me. I am a very good boy my foster family tells me often, and I am doing well with the 4 other dogs in their home but I play pretty rough being so tall and so big and clumsy at times, the other dogs are 2 english bulldogs, a female DdB and a fox terrier who I adore but she is very small and sometimes I step all over her trying to play with her, so I would do best with a larger breed female since I am still a puppy at heart and really do love to play. Please note:  I do not get along with other male dogs so if you have one already, that is all you need.  You do not need me too.
I weigh about 140 pounds, and am a taller DdB, I am heart worm negative and on heart worm prevention, I am micro-chipped, crate and house trained, up to date on all my shots and I am neutered. There are no kids in my foster family's home but I do well with older kids and would like to find a family who has mastiff experience, and will continue to work with me being better at walking on lead as I still pull at times because I am so excited to go for walks!!! 'Want to go for a walk!' are my favorite words, besides 'Let's eat!' I LOVE going for rides in the car too! I really really want a fenced in yard to run around in and hope it has some nice shade trees to keep it shaded. If you think your family is the right one to love me for the rest of my life please submit an application today, I would love for a family to adore me and have time for me and make me a valued member of their family, I hope this is you, thank you for reading my story!

If you are interested in giving Orion his happily ever after, please submit an adoption application at  It is our policy at American Bulldog Rescue not to place the same gender dogs in a home.  Adoptions are most successful and harmonious with opposite genders. Please also note: No one will be considered without first submitting an adoption application. Our dogs are in homes and only approved adopters can meet them. Once approved, you can meet any dog you like that would be a good fit for you/your family.

PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option! If you can't help by adopting a homeless pet, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to American Bulldog Rescue, 4 Terry Drive, Suite 1D Newtown, PA 18940 or paypal We cannot place dogs in homes with children under 10 unless that dog has lived with kids or is in a foster home with kids. Thank you.

To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Visit our Adoption Policies web page for more information and a link to our application:
