*Be sure to watch her video's below*
This little sweet soul Cassidy has had a horrible life – someone terribly abused and neglected her. She came in from a very rural area in KY -- you know the movie Deliverance?
She is so pretty, so soft in spirit & we’ve had a lot of interest in her, especially being that she’s so small for a Basset Mix & it is odd that she’s only about 40 lbs. – but she came in being just under 30 lbs. She’ll love you & desperately will want to come to you --- but she’ll take a lot of patience to work thru her fear. She will only be able to be adopted by someone who has had real experience with working with abused dogs.
She is doing so much better -- but before the only time I would really see what 'happy' was when she is with her foster siblings. She's a pack dog that's for sure, they make her feel safe. It would be perfect if she could go to a home with another dog -- but not mandatory.
I’ve rescued coming up on 500 dogs since 2-24-2004 when LnF was founded & I have a “gift” of being able to get dogs to trust me -- but I have to put Cassidy in the top 10 of my worse cases. It took months for her to be able to come CLOSE to me to be petted. She is so afraid of being beaten again. She & I have worked out a lot. You can see my the photos below what she looked like 10 lbs. underweight & you can tell by the look on her face how afraid & sad she was. She has truly improved over these last several months which you can see in one of the videos when she's in the living room with everyone.
