Facts about Scooter

  • Breed: Schnauzer (Miniature) Mix
  • Color: Gray/Blue/Silver/Salt & Pepper
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Scooter is a very sweet-tempered male schnauzer. He gets along well with the dogs and cats in his foster home and has been friendly to all of the dogs, adults, and children he has met on his daily walks. He is very gentle with the foster family’s seven-year-old granddaughter who resides in the home. He loves to chase squirrels and bunnies and barks loudly in frustration when they slip away from him through the rungs of the fence. Scooter does not seem to know any basic commands and despite being very treat-oriented he has not shown any desire to learn them. He loves to be around people and wags his tail enthusiastically when his people approach him. He either gives a little schnauzer grumble when he needs to have a potty break or he will give several short barks and run to the door. He is very well-behaved and loves to be petted or to have the area behind his ears scratched. When his toy is thrown across the room he will run after it and fetch it and drop it at her feet waiting for the next throw.

Scooter recently had a dental and did not have to have any teeth extracted so he has all of his pearly-whites. He was also recently neutered.

Note: Scooter was surrendered with another dog, Curly. They came in to rescue together, but have been fostered separately. They are doing well separate and did not act interested in each other when they met again at the vet. So they may be adopted together or separately.

Our Adoption Process...

Homeward Bound Schnauzer Rescue requires an application to be submitted prior to adopting a dog. Once a good match is made, an adoption is scheduled. An adoption fee will be required to help offset the costs associated with providing great care for our rescue dogs. At the time of adoption, if old enough, dogs will be spayed/neutered, updated on vaccinations, given a Heartworm test and will be microchipped. The adoption fees will vary depending on the age of the dog.
