My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ABOUT MYLES
Someone brought Myles to OSVS after finding him as a stray and thought he needed to be euthanized. But what they found upon examination was not a dog on the brink of death. He had a skin infection. They began the simple treatment. Otherwise, he looked okay. Not knowing what to do, they gave him all of the love and care they could. They put him in the back, and over the coming days he responded very well to treatment for his skin. His paw improved and he was eating and friendly. Because he was brought in being found in Central Falls, they contacted our friend Charlene, ACO of Central Falls.

Myles is an extremely sweet and affectionate seven to eight year old pit bull Boxer mix. He loves other dogs, so much so that a doctor at the hospital brought in her own dog to help calm him. The company of another dog immediately made him feel better and the two dogs spent the night cuddled up.

This dog was clearly well cared for at some point. He knows several commands, walks well on leash, appears to be potty trained, and loves attention.

HDR is covering his medication and he was discharged into Charlene's care and will be living at the Pawtucket Shelter. Myles will likely have chronic skin issues, and he does have three large skin tags but we are told that it's best to leave them since they don't seem to bother him.

Myles is very anxious at the shelter. He needs a home and he needs it soon. We made sure he has some meds to help calm him while at the shelter, enough for the next two weeks. He is having a tough time, but we will get over there to visit him as much as we can.

Is anyone out there looking for a sweet older guy to join their family? Myles is really something special. He is the kind of dog that does not come along too often. He is soulful, hopeful, and full of love to give. You can apply to adopt Myles by filling out an application at handsomedansrescue.org.

You can go visit him at Pawtucket Shelter in Pawtucket, RI. Or you can email via the contact us tab at handsomedansrescue.org. Thanks for reading.
