We started this organization because there were an incredible number of wonderful pets being impounded in Rice County without any hope of finding a new home. We are a not-for-profit charitable organization relying solely on donations and fundraisers to get the necessary care for these lovable pets to be adopted. All fundraising efforts are volunteer. No members, officers, or board members are compensated for the generous hours spent helping animals in need. More volunteers are always welcome!
Come Meet Our Pets...
The pets rescued are at Ark Veterinary Clinic in Sterling, KS. We have few foster homes but, occasionally, have a pet or two in foster as well. Please contact Friends of Animals Rice County via phone or e-mail for location information.
Our Adoption Process...
We require an Adoption Contract be signed after receiving a positive veterinary and/or personal reference, We request a $150 adoption fee to help defray some of the veterinary costs of age-appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, canine heartworm test, feline leukemia test, deworming, and microchip.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
