This is Goldie.
Goldie's story was suppose to end much, much differently than how it did. You see, Goldie was suppose to be used as bait for a dog fighting ring. I know everyone has at least *heard* of the term "bait dog" but in case u haven't, these dogs are used to train the fighter dogs to kill. To attack over and over with absolutely no holding back. It is to give the fighter dogs the taste of blood and to "boost" their confidence as they are always successful in mauling their prey. Puppies, seniors, small dogs - those are favored because they stand no chance. And of course the infamous "Free dog to good home" is the dogfighter's dream come true. Why pay for live bait when u can get it for free?
So that was Goldie's fate. Until someone decided to DO something instead of turning away in disgust. Goldie's savior was able to convince her tormentors to release her. And here is where her story takes that turn from something horrifying....to something beautiful.
Goldie is now safe in foster. Happy, playful, and all the puppy-ness a 6 month old baby could muster. She has no idea how close she came to dying a terrifying death. All she knows is that she loves to snuggle. And play with her doggie foster siblings. And that belly rubs are her favorite. This little love will be ready for her new home in just a few short weeks. She is perfect with other dogs and would be great with kids. She loves activity - so all ur joggers, hikers, walkers out there - this girl here would be ur perfect partner.

Adoption fee $450 and includes health exam, deworming, up to date vaccines, microchipping, and spay. Application can be found on our website www.RDRanimalrescue.org

About Rescue Dogs Rock Animal Rescue - NJ

About Our Rescue Group...

Rescue Dogs Rock is a NJ non-profit animal rescue based in Gloucester County, NJ. We are passionate about helping animals in need through rescue work and public education related to animal welfare issues. We work hard to find loving, responsible families for each of the animals we rescue. We are also dedicated to raising public awareness related to animal welfare issues. Through animal rescue/placement, animal advocacy, and education of the public, it is our hope that we may make a positive difference in the lives of animals.

Rescue Dogs Rock Animal Rescue specializes in rescuing and finding loving and responsible forever families for homeless companion animals, focusing primarily on dogs and puppies of all ages and breeds. We are also dedicated to helping animals through raising public awareness related to animal welfare issues. Through animal rescue and placement, animal advocacy, and education of the public, it is our hope that we may make a positive difference in the lives of animals. All of our rescued animals are spayed or neutered prior to placement in forever homes unless they are less than six months of age and/or cannot be spayed or neutered for health reasons. In this case, we require that the animal is spayed or neutered once he/she is old enough and is determined by a veterinarian to be healthy enough to be spayed or neutered. Our animals receive all necessary medical care and are all microchipped prior to their adoption.

To learn more about our rescue, adoption/volunteer opportunities, news and community events, frequently asked questions, and read about some of our happy tails, please visit our website at www.RDRanimalrescue.org. We also have a section of our website dedicated to providing you with helpful and educational material related to animals and their care.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We would love for you to meet our rescued animals! If you are able to attend one of our adoption events, we would love to meet you and have you meet any of our rescued animals in attendance. However, in order to meet our animals outside of our adoption events, we require that you first complete an adoption application. Once your application is approved, we will contact you to set up a home visit and a time for you to meet our animals. In some cases, we may schedule a time for you to meet our animals prior to an approved home visit, however, we always require an approved application (including approved veterinary and personal references) prior to scheduling a time with you to meet our rescued animals. This is due to the fact that we do not operate a shelter with regular visiting hours, but rather use foster homes for our rescued animals.

For more information about our rescue, please visit our website at www.RDRanimalrescue.org.

Our Adoption Process...

Please visit out website www.RDRanimalrescue.org to download an adoption application which can be submitted by either printing/scanning/emailing or faxing to us. All applications must contain accurate and complete information. We require that you be at least 21 years of age.

Your application will then be received and processed. This includes required veterinary and personal reference checks which will be completed by our volunteers.

We will contact you after your application has been reviewed and, if approved, we will schedule and complete a required home visit. We ask that all family members and animals living in the home be present for the home visit.

When possible, we will bring the animal(s) you are interested in adopting with us to your home to meet you and your family. If this is not possible, we will contact you to schedule another time for you and your family (including animals in your family) to meet the animal(s) you are interested in adopting.

Following an approved home visit and meeting with the animal(s) you would like to adopt, the last step in our adoption process is to complete and sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. What's next? You get to take your furry friend home to love and spoil!

Please visit our website for more information about our adoption process and also to read the 'Frequently Asked Questions' page of our website for additional information about our rescue. This page includes information regarding our spay/neuter policy and what our adoption fees include.
