Chewie is a handsome and very kooky kitty (see picture of him with his head upside down LOL!). Chewie is a diabetic cat who is currently being weaned off of insulin. He eats kitten wet food (since it is high in protein) and no dry food. He lets us check his blood sugar levels twice a day by pricking his ear. In a few weeks he should be fully weaned off of the insulin and won’t need twice daily blood sugar checks anymore. Chewie loves to follow us around the office to keep an eye on what we are doing. He loves to be held and loves chasing feather toys. Please give Chewie a chance….if we don’t find him a home soon we will have to move him out of the room he is in to allow other cats to come into our sanctuary. Then Chewie will move to one of our free roaming rooms with regular wet and dry food which will drive his sugar levels back up and he will need insulin again. Call to come and meet him. 516-922-2287 Also check out Chewie's video!
