My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Handsome Max. Max was born around May 14, 2016 and weighs about 50 pounds as of October 18th. Although size is just a guess, we believe he will grow to be an extra large dog given his current age and he already is 50 pounds. Mom was a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix and they think dad was a German Shepherd. He was an owner surrender from Kentucky from an accidental litter. We have never seen the parents nor do we have photos.

Max is a super sweet, friendly puppy. He is going to be a very loyal loving dog, but he can take a little bit to warm up initially. You have to let him approach you when he's comfortable. He is going to be a big dog so training will be a must. He needs some help with leash walking as he's very unsure of it, but he is a puppy and that's not uncommon for a pup who has never been on a leash. Given how big he is going to be, we do not feel an apartment, condo, or townhouse would be a proper home for him. He loves dogs, and would be fabulous in a home with another dog. He loves children, and is super happy when he sees them. He is currently in a foster home in Plainfield.

A home where someone isn't not gone all day would be best for Max. He needs a family who will have time to continue with house training and socialization. Keeping a puppy crated all day while your at work is not good for a puppy, especially one who is a little shy. We also feel that a home with a physical fenced in back yard is needed, no electronic fences.

Charlie is being fostered in a Plainfiled which is where you and your family would go to meet him. All family members, including 4-legged, must be present at the meet and greet to adopt. In order to schedule a meet and greet, please submit and adoption application which can be found on-line at http://angelsonwheels.org/canine-adoption-application/ Once we receive the application we will process. It does take some time, so please be patient. Thank you. For additional information about our adoption process, please go to our website at angelsonwheels.org and click on the "adoptable" tab.

Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but is required prior to making arrangements for a meet and greet as all of our animals are cared for in homes. We can't schedule meet and greets until the application is submitted and approved. We don't have a building so there are no viewing hours. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes by wonderful families who volunteer their time to save these precious souls. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Although we make the best guess on the breed and size of our dogs, because they come from shelters or are strays, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the dog. Breed and weight at maturity are only guesses. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED! If an animal is still posted for adoption, he/she is still available. If you see this this post, this puppy is available for adoption so there is no need to email asking about availability.

Thank you for looking at our rescued animals!
