Marvin's Story...
Marvin is a 7 year old chihuahua. He is around 7 lbs and may need to gain another one still, he came in to us very thin. Marvin should stay somewhat thin because he has some congenital issues with his feet and legs. He gets around just fine but moves a little different and may have trouble if he gains too much weight or in his super senior years. Right now, Marvin enjoys short walks, burrowing into blankets and sitting on your lap or by your side. Marvin does not enjoy car rides or being left alone. He will cry for you when you leave, he may be a little too loud for apartment living. He does just fine with other calm dogs and with cats. Marvin would love a quiet adult only home or a home with teens. Marvin eats hard kibble just fine but will likely need a dental cleaning at some point in the future. Marvin is a very friendly little doll of a dog who is waiting for his forever family to come along.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marvin, a Manhattan Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
