Athena's Story...
After a long wait, Athena has finally been adopted!!! Please help her friends still waiting at the shelter! Athena is a super-loving, all white husky about 3yrs old. Athena came to us after a morning run and found refuge in our shelter. She has since been abandoned by her owners and is eagerly awaiting a permanent home. Athena knows how to sit and shake and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. She does well for brushing and tolerated a bath (even shared most of the water with the person giving it!). :) Please come meet this very sweet girl today and give her the forever home she deserves! Athena will need a home with a fenced in yard and where she will be an inside dog. *Resources will be provided at time of adoption for Athena to be spayed. ***While this is a very gorgeous dog, please research the breed before considering adoption. Huskies are an energetic working breed. There coat needs constant brushing and training needs to be consistent!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Athena, a Kankakee Siberian Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky for sale in Kankakee, or seeking a Siberian Husky dog from a breeder in Kankakee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kankakee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kankakee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky breeders who help with Siberian Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kankakee paves the way for another one to be saved.
