Trevor's Story...
Trevor has found a wonderful family! Please help his friends back at the shelter!!! 'Hi! I'm Trevor! I'm only about 10-12wks old and I'm already neutered! I love to play, go on long walks, play, learn new tricks, oh yes- and play! I have these new teeth coming in, so I really like to chew on everything- but will behave in a crate with just my toys. I'm still trying to figure out this potty-training thing, but sometimes I have to try to hold it soooo long here. I would love another playmate and could probably learn to not chase cats if you teach me. I've been here since I was 2 days old and I would really love to learn what a family is like. Please come meet me today!'

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trevor, a Kankakee Akita puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Kankakee, or seeking a Akita puppy from a breeder in Kankakee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kankakee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kankakee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kankakee paves the way for another one to be saved.
