Emma's Story...
Emma is a 9 month old , 30lb. Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) Blend. She was pulled from a high kill shelter in central Louisiana. She is crate trained, mostly house trained and friendly with most other dogs (she needs dogs that can handle her high energy because she has a bundle of it!). Once physically & mentally wore out/stimulated she will relax and he does love to snuggle so we’re looking for a home that will allow affection. She is VERY food motivated and knows basic commands. She needs a very active family, one that loves to get outside & play, go on walks or throw a ball. She needs a yard to run in. She would also do great with older kids but may have too much energy for younger children. She is a stereotypical Blue Healer. She tries to herd anything and everything. She wants desperately to please her people, so she is going to be highly trainable. Currently in foster in Ohio.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emma, a White Cottage Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler for sale in White Cottage, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in White Cottage.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in White Cottage already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a White Cottage breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in White Cottage paves the way for another one to be saved.
