Meringue Pie's Story...
Meet Meringue Pie! Meringue was pulled from a Louisiana High-Kill Shelter by Rescue Road Trips and is currently being fostered in Ohio. She is a 1 year old stereotypical Sheltie Mix, who is full of love and life! She is an outgoing and friendly companion, if you can toss a tennis ball you'll have a friend for life. When she is not playing with a furry or human friend, she enjoys cuddling up on the couch for a afternoon or evening nap. If you think you have the perfect family home for Meringue, we would love to hear from you!
We are a small non-profit organization that started out as a low cost transport service for rescues to move dogs and cats from the southern states to the northeast for foster homes and forever homes. We pick up in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi and transport to the northeast. Since beginning this business we have started as a rescue as well. We take in a small amount of dogs in need and foster them until a loving forever home can be found.

Our Adoption Process...
Potential adopters will complete the adoption application. A vet check/reference will be done as well as a phone interview with the potential adopter and a home visit. If everything goes well, arrangements will be made for adoption. This will include transport if out of state as well as the adoption contract and a fee of $125. By signing the contract the adopter agrees to all requirements of RRT including Heartworm and flea/tick preventative and continued veterinary care.
