  • We were sitting on our deck 3 weeks ago during the 90-100 degree weather and mama kitty (see pictures, estimated at 8 months to a year old)walked up to the deck meowing loudly, clearly letting us know she was hungry. We brought a dish of cat food down to her with water, she finished both off, and we went inside.
  • The next night we came out, and she came up to us -- directly onto the deck -- demanding food and we again obliged. We debated adopting her (because we already have 2 cats) and then the next night when we left Bentonville for Arlington, we decided to take her with us with the intention of finding her a home. We brought her to a vet, had her examined, gave her $350 worth of shots, de-wormed, and she was ruled healthy.
  • At work on Monday over a week later, a friend of ours who visited our house, called us to thanked us for letting him visit it, and then said by the way, you have two kittens hiding under your stairs and they looked hungry.
  • Realizing that we had unknowingly taken the mother cat from her kitties and that they had been separated and on their own for over a week, we sped out to Bentonville immediately after work that night and reunited the mother cat with her kitties. It was very touching. She immediately bonded and took care of them.
  • The kitties (2-4 weeks then) were extremely hungry but fine. We brought the mother cat and kitties home with us to Arlington to make sure they stayed healthy.
  • Moma cat is extremely sweet and affectionate, purrs almost constantly, was clearly previously owned, is fully house trained, but despite our best efforts, our two cats are unwilling to accept her into the house. They fight. Thus, we need to find her a loving home.
  • The Kittens -- a boy and a girl, after surviving for a week on their own, these two kittens are discovering the world is not such a scary place. They are about 9 weeks old. The male kitten is grey striped and the female looks like she will be a calico like her mother. She is mostly smoky colored and has two tan front paws. Both kittens have had all their shots and medicines. (we can take pictures this PM and forward them to you.)
