Trimmy was anything but when we picked her up-- she was ready to pop with 11 beautiful black/tan pups-- but we knew she would regain her girlish figure once her mommying was done: she’s once again svelte at about 48 lbs. This sweet girl appears to be a German Shepherd donkey mix. Just joshin. But those ears had to come from somewhere! Pharoah hound? Basenji? Corgi?
Trimmy is sweet-tempered and playful. When the pups were still nursing, she would tear out the back door and lap the backyard after they'd had their fill. Now that they are gone (adopted to homes of their own), she runs the circuit and wrestles like a horse with a like-minded foster brother. Although Trimmy has the stamina, she's not one of those insanely focused dogs who just can't stop working/playing-- she'll grab a toy to interest the pups in a game of chase, but will easily let it fall. She does enjoy a good dig in the dirt but does not try to dig out to escape. She gets along well with young and old, male and female, dog and human. She barks at cats so we’re not sure she’d be a great match for a home with one, but it’s possible that she just needs exposure and direction. Trimmy is on the shy side out in public, but affectionate and friendly at close range. Trimmy is housetrained, spayed, and up-to-date on shots.
