Trimmy was anything but when we picked her up-- she was ready to pop with 11 beautiful black/tan pups-- but we knew she would regain her girlish figure once her mommying was done. The pups are 13 weeks old, and Trimmy is once again svelte at about 46 lbs. This sweet girl is probably just about a year old. She appears to be a German Shepherd donkey mix. Just joshin. But those ears had to come from somewhere! Pharoah hound? Basenji? Corgi?
Trimmy is sweet-tempered and playful. When the pups were still nursing, she would tear out the back door and lap the backyard after they'd had their fill. Now that they are old enough to rough-house, Trimmy plays with them until they drop. She has the stamina, but she's not one of those insanely focused dogs who just can't stop working/playing-- she'll grab a toy to interest the pups in a game of chase, but will easily let it fall. She gets along well with young and old, male and female, dog and human. She barks at cats so we’re not sure she’d be a great match for a home with one, but it’s possible that she just needs exposure and direction. She hasn’t had much experience on a leash yet, but she’s a fast learner so we don’t anticipate any problems.Trimmy is spayed and up-to-date on shots.
Those of her pups remaining available for adoption are also listed on this web site:
