Joy's Story...
Oh, hello there. I'm sorry if a seem to be on the shy side, I'm still adjusting to being at the shelter. My loving family was no longer able to care for me and made the difficult decision to let me find my new furever home. They knew the shelter would help me find the bestest place to live and give me lots of love until they did! So, here I am! I'm not much of a go getter-in fact, I prefer to be very sedentary in life. I'm quite fond of basking in the sunlight from a window. Laps are a wonderful place to take nice, warm naps on chilly days! Lets meet and see if your home is where I belong!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joy, a Harrisonburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
