My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MIKEY is a 4 year old neutered Fox Red male Lab who weighs 50 pounds. Mikey has gone through extensive obedience training and is doing very well. He gets along with other dogs in playgroups and enjoys going for walks. He will need an experienced adopter who will continue reinforcing what he has learned so far. Mikey is housetrained and crate trained. He is good with other dogs and used to
live in a home with 8 dogs, but we don't have any cat or kid history. Not approved for townhouses or apartments. Not recommended for first-time adopters He's approved for kids 10+.

Update: Mikey has been doing great. We had friends over a few days ago and he was fine with them. Today we took him for a walk in the neighborhood and stopped by a friend who had a Pointer and he had some play time with him and did really well. They were all running around the backyard and all getting along. He and our dog are finally playing together and having a blast. They chase each other, play tug and Mikey will sometimes fetch but doesn't know how to bring the ball back. He has been great in the house when we are gone and hasn't touched or gotten into anything he isn't supposed to. He loves to be petted and to get belly rubs. He likes to hang out with us but also likes his space. He will get up on the couch or bed and will lay down in his own area. He has been a great foster and is waiting for his forever family and hopefully a playmate too.

Update: Mikey has been doing very well and is a very good foster. He listens, comes when called and knows some commands. He will sit before he goes outside and before he eats. His foster took him on a walk for the first time today and did very well. He doesn't pull and met a person along the way and stopped so she could pet him. He is very curious and likes to look out the windows and will look at the TV if he sees something interesting. He wants to play with the resident dog but she doesn't want to play with him. He would be good by himself but would really like a playmate. He has been left alone for 6 hours in the house and has been perfect, so he doesn't need to be crated. He loves chewing on antlers, nylabones and playing with toys. He loves hanging out with his fosters but will also lay down on the couch or another room if he wants some alone time. He loves to go for rides and sits in the backseat and looks out the window. His tail is always wagging and he wiggles when he wags. He will come up to his fosters and give kisses at any time. At night he sleeps on the bed with his foster parents.

Update: Mikey continues to be a great house guest. He plays nicely in the house and has been taking a lot of naps. Mikey is crate trained but doesn't need it because he is a good boy when left alone. He will come running when called, and sits when he gets his meals. He will stay back when asked if his fosters go out the door. He has been having a great time playing in the snow! He loves running around the back yard with his foster sister and chasing a ball. Mikey would enjoy a home where he would get frequent walks, playtime with another dog, and a fenced in yard to explore on his own. Mikey attended yesterday's adoption event and is still looking for his forever family. Watch him here: https://youtu.be/vkNIe86iBMo

Update: MIkey has been in his new foster home for 2 days and he is a delightful little dog. He has a happy and friendly attitude. He likes to play with toys and will sit politely for a treat. Mikey likes to go outside and explore the yard but is happy to hang out on the couch too. Last night he curled up right beside his foster mom while she was watching television. Mikey is good with the resident dog and would like to play with her but she has not been much of a playmate lately so Mikey leaves her alone and grabs a toy to toss around.
