My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy!

I’m Bear, a affectionate Cane Corso / Pit Bull Terrier mix. I'm 4-5 years old and weight around 80 pounds.
I was rescued from a miserable life living on the streets of Houston, TX. One day this lovely lady came out to feed the stray dogs in my neighborhood. I knew it was now or never! The minute she opened the car door to get out the food…I jumped in, seated myself in the back of her car and presented her with my most charming smile ever. She couldn’t say no to me! I was blessed. In fact, ever since she rescued me my life has been blessed.

She took me to her home and I must admit it was a bit scary at first. I had never been allowed to be inside a home but my rescue lady patiently worked with me through my fears and slowly introduced me to the life of an inside companion pet. It didn’t take very long to get used to a comfy dog bed or cuddling up on the couch with my human. I’m truly intrigued by the so called dog toys such as Kong toys filled with peanut butter or anything else. I had no idea such wonderful things exist. Her own dogs welcomed me into their pack and I learned how much fun it is to have a play buddy. My rescue lady says, I would do best with a dog companion my size as I may hurt the little ones. Unintentionally of course but I’m a big playful boy. I also do very well with respectful children but again due to my size I would do best in a home with older children that I cannot accidentally knock down.

I know, I’m a big dog but truly I really just want to be your baby. I already know basic commands such as sit, stay and come. I’m eager to do right by my human. I have an average energy level and I’m very submissive with people. I love all people, especially the ones who give me fun toys, peanut butter and let me lay right next to you. I’m crate and house trained but may need some refreshing as I have been living in a boarding facility for the past couple of month. She said I could be a great running or jogging buddy but will need some more training on the leash as I do get really excited when get out of my kennel. I mean, can you blame me?! She still visits me often and I so wish I could go home with her. She said to keep my head up high because my family is out there looking for me and soon I will be going to my very own forever home.
Are you the family she is talking about? I sure hope so.

Sincerely,
Bear
