Shimmer is an adult female cat. She is pure snow white with vivid gold eyes. She is very shy right now and will need a lot of love and special attention to learn to trust people. We know she can do it, but she will be a labor of love for the volunteers for a while.
Update: Shimmer has joined a colony room and has found the love of her life in Doc Holliday, the big 18-pounder. Shimmer is happiest when she can snuggle up behind Doc, letting his bulk block her from being stared at or approached to quickly. She'll rest her head on his back or shoulder and peep up at us, but the minute she gets scared, she'll pop back down and cuddle into Doc. He seems to like having someone to groom and share cat beds with too (his brother Wild Bill is way too big to share a donut bed with, but Doc and Shimmer make it work!). Shimmer is letting us pet her over Docs back
If you have experience with shy/frightened cats and would like to foster this beautiful girl, please give us a call at 701-356-7877 - she'd probably be more comfortable in a quiet home than a busy shelter, but she will definitely need a lot of patience and space, at least at first.
