Adopting A Shelter Dog

These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future.  Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog.  We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog.

Little senior Pom abandoned and alone wanting a home for Xmas.

Dodger is a sweet guy who is looking for his retirement home where he can lanquish with his new owners. He would love to sleep in late, have breakfast with you in bed, lazy walks around the neighborhood, back home for lunch and a quiet afternoon in the garden and he will watch you weed. He will guard you in the kitchen while you cook and make sure that the floor is squeeky clean of food scapes.. He is calm cool and collected. He will be polite to your friends, family and grand children. He is in good health and has many years of love to give. His coat is soft and he loves to be brushed.  Prefers quiet and mellow dogs and would not mind being an only dog. He doesnt care about cats. He loves people and belly rubs. He enjoys a fluffy bed, yummy treats, and admiration by his human.
Adoption is $200 and includes his neuter, rabies, shots, bordetella, de worming treatment, heartworm test and microchip
Please fill out an application on our website and then email for an meet and greet appointment. Dogs are met in Elk Grove and he is available to be seen at our 'Home for Xmas' adoption event this weekend. Paws crossed that DOdger will have another chance at a home and a heart of his own.

Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage

Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

About The Dog Spot Rescue & Rehabilitation Center

About Our Rescue Group...

They come from overwhelmed, overcrowded shelters, owners in crisis, neglectful situations, or simply abandoned to fend for themselves. Our mission is to eliminate the need for euthanasia, as a means of controlling the overpopulation of dogs, by spaying and neutering and by offering a place for dogs to go where they may rest, recover and be re-homed into a safe nurturing environment.
