My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CHOCOLATE is a 2 year old neutered chocolate male Lab who weighs 60 pounds. Chocolate is settling in his new foster home well. He's such a playful, jovial and friendly guy. He is checking out his new surroundings, lickin' his chops, and playing ball, which has lasted all afternoon! He loves his crate, but loves the couch even more! He's such a sweetie....he's looking forward to finding his forever home so that he can bring much joy to whomever is so lucky to adopt him. Chocolate is a joy! He went hiking at Great Falls Park and he met tons of people and dogs - he loves them all. He’s very social and smart. Chocolate does have a lot of young boy energy, so he would do best with a fenced in yard and/or very active owners. He doesn’t know all his commands, but he seems to be responsive and learning. He is good on the leash but walks best with the Easy Walk harness. He love, loves, loves his squeaky ball and is rarely seen without it...even napping! No cat history. Chocolate is approved for kids ages 10+. More info soon!!!

Update: Chocolate is doing great in his temporary foster home! His new canine foster sister and him literally play all day long and he is quickly learning some manners. He found the dog toy basket and was so excited to take each one of the toys out and parade them around the house. He's been to the dog park and he and his foster sister just played and chased balls until we got too cold. Such a cute boy! Check out the picture of him all snuggled up with his foster sister - this boy is all love!

Update: Watch Chocolate at Sunday's adoption event here: https://youtu.be/uVErChfaG5Q

Update: Chocolate is a charmer! This adorable boy thinks that tennis balls are the coolest and made everyone laugh at the adoption day with his goofy ball antics. His fur is so soft it's like velvet, and he gives the sweetest kisses. He is a happy boy, with a gentle soul and is going to make someone a very happy forever family.

Update: Chocolate is very energetic - loves to run fast and he is fast! He would do well with a backyard or frequent visits to dog parks. He is very social - curious and loves all people and dogs. He is such a velcro boy! Like any young lab, he'll need continued training but his foster mom says he's very smart and motivated to learn. He is a fast learner - he's starting to wait at the corners (haven't gotten to the "sit" point but working on it!) and very smart. He remembers everything! He loves to cuddle in a small ball on the couch. He will protest a bit when he goes in the crate, but settles soon after. He would much prefer to snooze at night on the couch and will reward you for letting him sleep uncrated by letting you sleep in. He is such a handsome boy, and is playful but submissive with other dogs.

Update: Chocolate is handsome, playful, fun and super smart. He has a great sniffer and can always tell if someone in the neighborhood is cooking something yummy. He's learning commands well and is very social with other people and dogs. House trained too! What's not to love about this special guy?! Some lucky family will find him soon!
