Sonya is a female pittie mix and weighs about 50 pounds. Here is what the volunteers in Hawaii say about her–

“Playful but timid, Sonya is a sweet and loveable dog that needs a little help with confidence boosting. She greets in a friendly manner and does not avoid leashing, but can sometimes be easily startled by sudden and/or loud noises/motions. Nevertheless, she is a dog that is generally easy to handle and has a fairly mellow personality. With other dogs Sonya may come off as slightly timid at first, but it quickly becomes apparent that all she wants to do is play. She is highly tolerant and accepting of other animals, and did not show any signs of aggression, even when the other dogs may have been pushy. Sonya would do best in an active household with access to both indoors as well as a safe outdoor space to play. Being that she has spent so much time in the company of another dog, she would likely do well in a household with more than one. Training courses can help to boost confidence as well as keep her socialized, reinforcing her good behaviors. Inclusion in activities with her family and time spent promoting bonding will further boost her confidence and increase her happiness.”
