Otis is one of a three cat colony rescued from the Powerhouse District in Jersey City, NJ. He was, and remains the "leader" of the trio. Originally Otis and his siblings were indoor/outdoor cats but when their owner fell ill and then passed, the family asked the local rescue group to care for them as an outdoor colony. This allowed them to stay together and enjoy their beloved backyard. With the increased construction downtown and their age, they were trapped and have been living in foster care since January. All three are friendly and very low maintenance, and are adjusting well to being indoor- only cats. See "Milo" and "Cami" for descriptions of his pals. The goal is to place everyone together in a peaceful environment where they can live happily and safely.
PAD PAWS rescue is a non-profit organization specializing in abandoned and injured animals who have taken refuge along the Hudson River (between Battery Park/NYC and Jersey City, NJ). The majority of our rescues include Trap/Neuter/Release along with rehoming if the animals are in dangerous situations (due to construction sites, urban development and busy city streets). PAD PAWS handles all medical costs, adoption, education, rehabilitation, as well as assisting with other local organizations and the community in rescuing/saving animals and wildlife.
