JESSE's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

JESSE's Story...

JESSE is is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heart-worm tested negative, de-wormed and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth or 3 September 2015 and at the time of rescue weighed approximately 28 pounds.

JESSE was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where he was due to be killed, his 3 days having run out. He lives at the rescue in Maine with 30 other dogs ranging from 4 pound Chi's to 95 pound German Shepherds and all other sizes in between. He gets on great with all dogs and has not shown any kind of aggression to either dogs or humans.

JESSE is a happy, active boy, who likes to tell you how he is feeling, he loves to chase the other dogs and play with toys. He loves cuddles and having his ears scratched and belly rubbed.

JESSE is a young boy and so would benefit from an active family who likes the outdoors and will take him on road-trips and adventures, to let him enjoy the fresh air and the sights, sounds and smells the work has to offer. JESSE does need training and will need a family that has time and the dedication to teach him both basic and advanced obedience. We suggest that families work on training JESSE themselves so that they all can learn each others body language, personality and the family be able to set boundaries and expectations.

We do not have cats at the rescue so we are unable to say how any of our dogs would react around cats.

We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page!

JESSE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $250. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious handsome boy a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

JESSE is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxcroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). There are also lots of wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

JESSE, a Allentown German Shepherd Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Allentown, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
